California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)
New State Testing Period Underway District-Wide
Students in grades 3-8, and 11, are now taking part in the new California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASP) online testing program. These new exams will be administered during the next two months and replace the longtime STAR tests students have taken in previous years. The CAASP exam covers computer adaptive tests in English/Language Arts, mathematics, and a traditional paper-based science evaluation.

Zumba Fundraising Event
Reynolds will be hosting a Zumba fundraising event for parents only.
When: Friday, March 20, 2015. 6:00 pm or 8:00 pm
Where: Champion Eyes at 3700 Oceanic Way. Oceanside, CA 92056.
Note: The location has changed from Reynolds MPR.
Tickets: $6 for one session or $10 for two sessions
Child care for school age children will be available for $1 per child.
Tickets may be purchased through your child's teacher.
There will be prizes during the Zumba class for people participating!

ParentLink App Available for OUSD Parents
A new ParentLink App for smart phones is now available to OUSD parents. The App aims to provide and improve all avenues of district and student communication and information for parents. Watch the video below.
ParentLink’s easy-to-use App provides emergency messaging, custom messages and language translation. Parents can now get OUSD information when they need it.
OUSD Parents using the district’s Aeries portal will be receiving an e-mail with instructions on how to download the App. For more information, please see the district website at http://www.oside.us/parentlink.

Foods and beverages sold to students through the district’s child nutrition program, student stores, vending machines and fundraisers meet or exceed state and federal nutrition standards. Nutrition education is provided as a part of the district’s health education program.
